ARTSegy
Concept:
The idea behind ARTSegy is an Abstract Real Time Strategy game. The graphics are done in a simple vector style.
Most objects will have 3 levels indicated by Red (1), Yellow (2) and Green (3).
Each player starts at opposite sides of a map.
- BASE: The players start with a single large red circle representing their base.
- UNIT GENERATOR: The base starts with one attached smaller red circle. This circle is the unit generator. After a period of time it spits out a circle of the same size and color.
- UNIT: A unit is your base object. It is the same level as the unit generator it was spawned from. You can add units to the "resource" generator to help spawn more resources.
- ATTACK POWER: This is indicated on the unit by an attached line. All level 1 units start with one red line branching out from the "top" of the unit. This gives an attack power of 1. You can add up to 4 lines (each at 90 degrees from each other) to a unit for a total of 4 attack power.
- RESOURCES GENERATOR: This is the generator for unit production and upgrades. You start with a long narrow white outlined rectangle that has enough space for x (10?) small squares. It is sectioned off into those squares and the first square on the left contains a blue square representing one unit of production. There is a "read head" represented by a line at the front of the box (sticking up above the box so you can see the current location easily). Every "tick" of the clock has the read head move over the generator by one space. If it passes over a filled/blue box, it will spawn one energy. You can upgrade this generator by adding up to 4 more rows to it. This gives a player to generate up to 4 units of energy per tick of the game clock.
- RESOURCE TOTAL DISPLAY: A small box next to the resource generator. It contains the total number of resources available at each tick. You start the game with an attached smaller block, allowing you to grab 1 energy unit. You can upgrade this to 2 and then 3. Each upgrade will add a new set of blocks, so you can choose to use 1, 2 or 3 blocks. As you drag and place the resources on the unit you're upgrading, it subtracts it from the number displayed in the box.
- UNIT UPGRADE: You can upgrade a unit's HP, AP, or merge units into stronger units (up to 4 units total). You can also add features like flying or swimming to give better movement over some terrains.
