Battlecraft: It's not just a game anymore
In the 7th decade after the mighty revolution in North Korea, something has stirred in the mind of the Mighty Leader. Something, alien.
The Mighty Leader, Great Grandson of the Great Leader, and Grandson of the Dear Leader, and Son of the Supreme Leader, has initiated a series of reforms to move away from the Juche Independence Ideal. In the process he was contacted by foreign agents working to help him gain the upper hand in this uneasy armistice that's been going on for decades.
The might Xerk race, an interdimensional insectoidal species intent on colonial conquest of planetary systems, has chosen The Mighty Leader to be their emissary on earth. In exchange for their powerful technology he shall be vice regent.
Fortunately, the South Koreans were raised on what they thought was only a game. A game that dominated their culture. BattleCraft. Each revision getting more and more real until the latest, Battlecraft V... A full on virtual holodeck command center with ever more units, and detailed instructions on how to build each unit.
The developer of this game, Cold As Fuck Entertainment, was actually a front organization set up by a time traveller from the future who knew of this mighty battle to come. In order to slowly prepare for the coming New Korean War and acclimate the youth and society, they created a simulator that grew more and more real as time passed, each release more popular than the last, with more spectacle and tactics and strategies. Training the generations of players and their children and children's children to fight with the technology that would ultimately become available for this.
The start of the New Korean War.
