Message in a Bottle

Walked out this morning, don't believe what I saw
Hundred billion bottles washed up on the shore
Seems I'm not alone in being alone
Hundred billion castaways, looking for a home

Inspired by the above lyrics by The Police, the idea is "we are all castaways looking for a home. anonymous people in a vast ocean, adrift, lonely, looking for connection."

So here we are on the network, trying to make contact.

MiaB would provide the "bottles".

The service is anonymous and could be seen as a sort of microblogging equivalent of omegle (anonymous chat). Also inspired by post secret

Some possible ways to approach this:

• To avoid spam, perhaps charge a certain amount per bottle beyond the first bottle.
• Messages are able to be replied to, but anonymously. The backend keeps the origin and destination of all messages.
• You may "throw back" a bottle if you don't want it or to reply to it.
• You may only send a certain amount of bottles out in a given time period.

I'm sure there are many issues that would be involved to prevent spam, stop suicide/murder hoaxes, guarantee anonymity while being able to stop harassment.
