Soul III

Concept:

A lunar colony detected a huge anomalous signal along with a bright equatorial and polar flash from earth. They sent a husband and wife team to investigate. (Jan and Dean Minkowski)

The earth itself is a future "utopia" of huge vertical megacities shielded by force fields that let solar light penetrate in, has conditioned environment, and limits rural population in order to let wildlife thrive.

Upon arriving, the husband and wife lose contact with the lunar colony and find that a vast swath of the earth populace was wiped out. There appears to be no obvious cause. As they wander the streets of the city they landed in, they find 5 year old identical twins (Mozik and Pozik)who are psychically connected and a giant, slightly retarded giant psychic entity (Tozik) projects from their mind. This giant saved them from death as they let out a psychic scream calling him forth to telekinetically block falling debris. But they find their mother had died.

As they venture out, they find a savant (can't remember his name) who lives in a cave who builds robots, and one in particular is made of an old television and is capable of tuning into the Gaian overmind. She communicates through visuals. He also has a pet robo-dog named Turbo.

They also meet a man who lives in a light house by the ocean who has a lobster claw for an arm (nor can I remember his name). The light house is a rocket ship.

Eventually they find that a warfaring alien race who carves up space whales and converts them into ships is heading towards earth.
