We3Rings

We 3 Rings (Concentring)

6x8 board each player has 12 rings: 4 small, 4 medium, 4 large

small can move 3 squares medium moves 2 squares large moves 1 square

Rings can "capture" by surrounding the next smallest ring Can only "capture" opponent, can't surround your own ring(?)

Goal - move pieces to opposite side of board, if succeed, you get score (small = 3, medium = 2, large = 1)

Can't jump over opponents pieces CAN(?) jump over your own

Moves can only be vertical/horizontal or combination. So a small can move what makes a knights move (2 up, 1 across) or a rook (3 up) but NOT 3 diagonal (no bishop)

Medium can move diagonal 1 spot (since that's one vertical, one horizontal)

Possible aleatoric feature: Roll dice to determine how many spaces total can be moved divided up between pieces (but no piece can move more than once).

If you roll a 4, for example, you could move 4 large pieces, 2 mediums, or a small and a large.

Are you forced to use the maximum number of moves? Could I move a medium only 1 space, and a small only 2 spaces? Could the die roll indicate max number of allowed moves, not the mandatory number of moves?
